I have a lcd tv and the picture is almost too dark to see? What could be wrong?

I have an Audiovox FPE3000 30″ TV and when I first turn it on the Audiovox symbol comes on real bright for about a half a second then goes away. When I try to watch something the picture is so dark it is nearly impossible to see. I can faintly see the menus and I have played around with brightness and contrast and color and all the controls, but it is still really dark. Almost like the lamp that lights the picture up is not coming back on after the Audiovox symbol comes on? Oh, the sound is fine, by the way. I don’t know, any TV repair people who have seen this problem and might know how to fix it.

You better hope it is still in warranty! There are no parts that you will be able to get to fix this yourself. When you replace this TV there are a lot better quality sets out there.
