What is better TV- LCD or Plasma?

I am just starting to look for a new TV. The new TV will be somewhere between 32″ and 47″.

What is the advantages and disadvantages of a LCD versus a Plasma?

Which one would you recommend and why?

Plasma:

Pros: excellent contrast and black levels, effortless motion, rich colors

Cons: vulnerable to “burn-in” although it’s less of an issue for newer models; screen tends to reflect room lights

LCD

Pros: panels weigh less than plasma and use less energy; burn-in not an issue

Cons: picture slightly less natural and “filmlike” than top plasmas

Look at the pros and cons above and decide on what you want. However, there are new TV’s that are LED-based and are better than both LCD and Plasma. They are expensive, though. For brand, I recommend Samsung as it’s very reliable. My old 20-year old Samsung TV still is working to this day like new.
